Facetime
by: John Kardell Labao
FaceTime is a video calling software application and related protocol developed by Apple for supported mobile devices running the iOS, in addition to Macintosh computers running Mac OS X 10.6.6 and higher. FaceTime is supported on any iOS device with a forward-facing camera (that is, all iOS devices released since the release of the iPhone 4) and on any Macintosh computer equipped with a webcam, in particular those equipped with a FaceTime Camera (formerly known as an iSight Camera).
FaceTime was announced by Apple CEO Steve Jobs at his keynote speech on June 7, 2010 at the WWDC 2010 in conjunction with the iPhone 4. Support for the fourth-generation iPod Touch, the first iPod Touch to be equipped with cameras, was announced in conjunction with this device's release on September 8, 2010.
How can Facetime help students?
- Nowadays student's way of communicating isn't telephone call anymore nor texting. They believe that video call wherein you can see the one you are communicating with in real time is more helpful than voice call or texting. They say that it is much more easier to understand each other when you can see each other talking. Facetime can be used anytime anywhere unless you don't have an iPod 4 or an internet connection, Wi-Fi to be specific. This application is helpful in terms of communication.
Group Review :
We rate this application 8 out of 10 since communication nowadays is really helpful in understanding each other but with Face Time communication is enhanced because you can actually see each other using iPod/iPhone 4.
