Zamzar is a web application to convert files. It was created by brothers Mike and Chris Whyley in England. It allows user to convert files without downloading a software tool. Users can type in aURL or upload one or more files (if they are all of the same format) from their computer, Zamzar then converts the file(s) to another format. For example, from a Flash streaming media file to MP3. Users receive an email with a URL from where they can download the converted file. Zamzar is currently in the public beta stage of development.
How can Zamzar help students?
- Students nowadays require a lot of files to be passed at school usually videos for reporting and sometimes audio for role playings background music. Zamzar will be really helpful since it convert files to the kind of files you want it to be. For example, you can convert a Media File to an MP3 File whenever you want only the music of the media to be played. This would really help their productivity in a way that they won't be stressed whenever they face a situation wherein they need to convert a file to another kind of file. ZAMZAR is always ready to use and it's free!
